This world consists of two dimensions joined into one, like a mirror. The first is Assiah, the world where humans live, the other Gehenna where demons live. Usually traveling between the two dimensions or any type of contact between them is something impossible to do. In Ao No Exorcist we find Satan, king of the demons in Gehenna and although he wants to do everything that others do, he cannot since there is nothing as powerful as him that can contain him without causing destruction, so he begets a son with a human, a young man named Rhine, to fulfill his purpose, but what he does not know is that he is finding out that he is the son of Satan and decides to enter a special school to fight against demons, becoming an... exorcist.
