Final Destination (2000) Netflix
Alex Browning, a high-school senior about to fly to Paris with his classmates, experiences a sudden, terrifying vision that the plane will explode after takeoff. Convinced something terrible will happen, he causes a small group — including friends, a teacher and a few others — to leave the aircraft. Moments later the plane indeed erupts in a catastrophic crash.
At first relieved, the survivors soon discover that escaping the disaster may have only delayed the inevitable: they begin dying one by one in strange, seemingly orchestrated accidents. As the tally of victims rises, Alex becomes obsessed with uncovering the pattern behind the killings and finding a way to save the remaining people on the list.
Complicating matters, law enforcement and fellow students grow suspicious of Alex, and the situation spirals into a tense race to outwit a relentless force that appears determined to finish what the vision predicted. The film follows his attempts to decode fate’s design while the group struggles with fear, guilt and the looming question of whether death can be cheated.
