Based on a real event that occurred in 1850, Solomon tells the story of Solomon Northup, a black musician cult who lived with his family in New York. After having a drink with two men, Solomon discovers that he has been drugged and kidnapped to be sold as a slave on a Louisiana plantation. Solomon contemplates how everyone around him succumbs to violence and despair. But he decides not to give up and wait for the right time to regain freedom and return to his family.
