Atlanta follows Earnest "Earn" Marks, a Princeton dropout who returns home to Atlanta and reluctantly becomes the manager of his cousin Alfred — a rapper finding sudden fame as Paper Boi. As they push to turn local buzz into a career, the show examines their differing views on art versus commerce and the everyday pressures of race, poverty, status, relationships and parenthood. Equal parts dark comedy and sharp social critique, the series tracks Earn, Alfred, their visionary friend Darius, and Earn’s on-again, off-again partner Vanessa as they navigate the city’s thriving but dangerous music scene.
