During James Franco's lavish housewarming, a group of Hollywood pals — led by Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel — watch Los Angeles descend into catastrophic, possibly biblical, chaos. Cut off from the outside world, they barricade themselves in Franco's modern mansion and must cope with shrinking supplies, rising paranoia and blistering clashes of ego as the apocalypse unfolds. Pressured by fear and cabin fever, their bonds fray and true characters are revealed, forcing them to decide whether to stay sheltered or brave the ruined streets. Equal parts raucous comedy and dark survival tale, the film explores friendship, selfishness and the search for redemption in the most absurd of endings.
