Frank Allen is a time-management guru who runs his life by lists, timetables and index cards — every minute planned, every choice calculated. His tidy routine keeps his wife Susan and their young daughter Jesse comfortable, if occasionally exasperated, until one well-intentioned morning when Susan tries to give him ten extra minutes and accidentally sets the clock backward. That tiny error cracks the veneer of control and sends Frank into a day of escalating misadventures.
A missed ferry, a seductive stranger, a panicked expectant mother and revelations about friendships and loyalties — including complications involving his best friend Buddy — collide to upend Frank’s carefully ordered world. As events spiral in several directions at once, a shocking family truth forces Frank to confront the limits of planning. Stripped of certainty, he begins to embrace spontaneity, trading rigid index cards for the unpredictable chance of the moment and discovering new meanings of love, forgiveness and family along the way.
