Although Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) is almost forty years old, continues to live with his mother Nancy (Mary Steenburgen) and is formed to get, from time to time, sporadic jobs. Dale Doback (John C. Reilly), is a forty -year -old professional stop that lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Nancy and Robert marry, the two parasites are forced to share a house, but, due to their narcissism and their aggressive laziness, a competition is established between them that comes to cloud the relationship between their parents.
