A Taxi Driver (2017) Netflix UK

In May 1980, a struggling Seoul taxi driver accepts a lucrative offer to drive a foreign journalist down to Gwangju and back before curfew. Hoping to solve his financial troubles and return to his young daughter, he reluctantly becomes their chauffeur into a city on the brink of turmoil.
What starts as a routine fare quickly turns dangerous as they arrive amid mass protests and escalating violence. Alongside a local student and another Gwangju driver, the German reporter films the unrest while the taxi driver is drawn deeper into the conflict, forced to confront the human cost of the uprising and the consequences of his choice. The film is inspired by true events surrounding the Gwangju Uprising of 1980.
