Set in ancient Egypt, the film follows Moses, an infant Hebrew secretly sent down the Nile to survive a royal decree and miraculously adopted into the pharaoh’s household. Raised as a prince, he wins favor and the love of the throne princess but earns the bitter enmity of the future pharaoh; when the truth of his birth is revealed, Moses is driven into exile.
While living as a shepherd he starts a family and is called by God to return to Egypt as His messenger. Moses confronts the ruler who refuses to free the Israelites, endures a series of divine plagues, leads his people through the parting of the sea, and receives God’s laws on the mountain — all the while battling the stubborn will of a leader whose heart is repeatedly hardened. The story traces his journey from palace life to prophetic leadership as he struggles to bring his enslaved people toward freedom.
