On a remote, utopian world, people live simply and devote themselves to strengthening mind and body and protecting the natural world. Their society has developed extraordinary mental abilities — including telepathic communication — and each year its elders gather in the crater of a dormant volcano to decide which planets will receive envoys. All worlds are claimed by volunteers except one: Earth, judged too polluted and dangerous.
Mila, a young woman moved by a personal revelation from the wise Osam — who tells her she was conceived on Earth during her father’s earlier visit — defies the consensus and volunteers to go. She arrives in Paris and is confronted with a bewildering, consumer-driven culture; the city’s noise, waste and materialism are a stark contrast to everything she values.
Awakened and unsettled, Mila sets out to understand humanity and to spark a different way of seeing the planet. The film follows her outsider perspective as she navigates love, identity and the challenge of inspiring a greener consciousness among people who view the world very differently.
