Clarice Starling, an ambitious young FBI trainee, is pulled from the academy to assist on a ticking murder investigation. Special Agent Jack Crawford sends Clarice to the Baltimore institution that houses Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a former psychiatrist and imprisoned cannibal whose brilliant but twisted mind might hold clues to the killer’s motives and methods.
Lecter is manipulative and cryptic, and he will only engage if Clarice bares elements of her own past.
