Marty Byrdde (Jason Bateman) is a financial advisor with an apparent family normal life. Married to Wendy (Laura Linney) and with two children, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), all lead a peaceful and ordinary life. But under that appearance Marty's life hides a great secret: he is in charge of bleaching the money of one of the most important drug cartels in Mexico. Everything seems to go well until something unexpected happens and Marty must take his whole family from Chicago to Ozark, in Missouri.
