The wealthy Phil brothers (Cumberbatch) and George Burbank (Plemons) are the two faces of the same currency. Phil is elegant, great and cruel, while George is impassive, borned and friendly. Together they are co -owners of a huge ranch in Montana. It is a place where the rapid modernization of the twentieth century is maintained and in which the figure of Bronco Henry, the largest cowbow that Phil has ever known, is venerated. When George marries a widow of the town, Rose (Dunst), Phil, surprised and furious, he carries out a sadistic and implacable war to destroy it completely using his effeminate son, Peter, as a pawn.
