In the not too distant future, the Earth invades a breed of invincible aliens. Comandante William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never entered combat, is commissioned by an almost suicidal mission and is dead. He then enters a temporary loop, in which he is forced to fight and die again and again. But the multiple battles that he takes make it more and more skilled and efficient in their fight against aliens. His combat partner is Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), a special forces warrior.
