The Iron Giant (1999) Netflix
In 1957, in the small town of Rockwell, Maine, a mysterious 50-foot-tall robot from outer space crash-lands nearby and is discovered by a curious nine-year-old boy, Hogarth Hughes. Hogarth secretly befriends the gentle metal giant and, with the help of junkyard owner Dean McCoppin, hides him from a suspicious government agent, Kent Mansley. As Cold War fears and military forces close in, the town’s panic and prejudice threaten the robot’s safety. Through friendship and sacrifice, the Iron Giant ultimately chooses to become more than a weapon—proving its humanity by risking everything to save the people it has come to care about.
