Babel (2006) Netflix

Babel follows several lives fractured and linked by a single, fateful gunshot. In the Moroccan desert, two local boys accidentally wound an American tourist, setting off a crisis for the couple and sending ripples across continents. Back in the United States, their children are cared for by their longtime Mexican housekeeper, who brings them to her son’s wedding and then faces perilous complications at the border on the return trip. In Tokyo, a troubled, deaf teenage girl struggles with grief, sexual confusion and a distant father whose past ties unexpectedly connect him to the shooting. As the film shifts between Morocco, Mexico and Japan, it traces how miscommunication, cultural barriers and chance bind strangers together, revealing moments of compassion, misunderstanding and shared vulnerability.
