End of Watch (2012) Netflix

End of Watch

End of Watch follows two young Los Angeles police officers, Brian Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Mike Zavala (Michael Peña), as they patrol the most violent neighborhoods of South LA. Shot in a raw, documentary-style with handheld footage, the film captures their close partnership, everyday patrol banter, and the personal lives that ground them—Mike’s expectant wife and Brian’s search for a deeper connection.

What begins as routine street work spirals into life-threatening danger when a traffic stop turns up a cache of drugs, weapons and cash tied to a powerful Mexican cartel. Their arrests and busts put them squarely in the cartel’s crosshairs, triggering a brutal campaign of retaliation. As the threat escalates, the officers’ loyalty to one another, their sense of duty, and their hopes for the future are pushed to the limit.
