Chinatown (1974) Netflix

Los Angeles, 1937. Detective Gittes, who specializes in divorces, receives a visit from Mulwray's wife, the head of the city's Water Service, who suspects her husband cheating on her. At the same time, Gittes discovers that farmers accuse Mulwray of corruption for his refusal to build a swamp that would alleviate the drought they suffer. Shortly after, the scandal jumps into the press, but the thing gets complicated when a woman shows up in Gittes' office with a surprising revelation.
