Nebraska (2013) Netflix

Nebraska

Woody Grant, an aging, often drunk retiree who begins showing signs of cognitive decline, becomes convinced a sweepstakes letter means he has won one million dollars. Determined to claim the prize in person, he insists his reluctant son David drive him from Billings, Montana to the sweepstakes office in Nebraska. A stop in Woody’s small hometown turns the trip into a family reckoning: word of the “win" spreads, old acquaintances and resentments resurface, and David is forced to confront the complicated history with his father. Told with a dry, understated tone, the film is a road-trip drama that blends wry humor and quiet melancholy as a son tries to understand the stubborn man who raised him.
