After years of solving hoaxes, the Mystery Inc. team has split up and moved on to new lives — Daphne is now a television reporter. For her birthday, Fred brings the whole gang to Louisiana to help with her show, and their assignment leads them to Moonscar Island, a remote place whispered to be truly haunted. Hoping to encounter real spirits for once, they follow local Lena Dupree onto the island and quickly discover it hides a far darker secret: savage, catlike creatures and an army of undead, commanded by the ghost of the pirate Moonscar. What began as a routine reunion turns into a fight for survival against forces no one expected to be real.
