Hinata Shōyō, a determined but undersized teenager, falls in love with volleyball after watching a national match and idolizing a short star known as the "small giant." After a crushing loss to prodigy Tobio Kageyama in middle school, Hinata enters Karasuno High School intending to get his revenge—only to discover Kageyama is now his teammate. The two former rivals must learn to set aside their differences and combine Hinata’s explosive speed and Kageyama’s pin-point setting to form a powerful attacking duo. Together with their teammates, they train hard, grow as players, and take on regional competitions with their sights set on meeting their destined rival at the national stage.
