Set in Victorian London, the story follows young Ciel Phantomhive, heir to a powerful noble house whose parents die in a tragic fire. Now back at the Phantomhive estate as head of the family’s toy-manufacturing firm and the Queen’s unofficial agent for strange and unsavory affairs, Ciel relies on Sebastian to protect him and carry out his hunt for those responsible. Their alliance is efficient and eerie, and the true limits of Sebastian’s loyalty — and Ciel’s ambition — remain shrouded in mystery.
