Life on Mars follows DCI Sam Tyler, a driven Manchester detective who, after a car crash linked to the disappearance of his colleague, wakes up to find himself in 1973. Still working at the same station but surrounded by old-school policing, outdated technology and a very different culture, Sam must solve crimes while trying to figure out whether he’s really travelled through time, suffering a delusion, or lying in a coma back in 2006. The show blends mystery, police drama and dark humor as Sam adapts to the past and searches for a way home.
