The eccentric FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) arrives at Twin Peaks, a small mountain town, to investigate the brutal murder of a young and beautiful Laura Palmer, the most popular girl in the local high school. With the village sheriff help, the friendly Harry S. Truman (Michael Ontkean), Agent Cooper begins to question the inhabitants of the village and gradually discovers that many of them hide dark and mysterious secrets.
