Ramón (Javier Bardem) has been prostrated in a bed for almost thirty years to the care of his family. His only window to the world is that of his room, which gives the sea, where he suffered the accident that interrupted his youth. Since then, his only desire is to die with dignity. In his life, two women exert a great influence: Julia (Belén Rueda), a lawyer who supports his cause, and Rosa (Lola Dueñas), a neighbor who tries to convince him that living is worth it. But also, captivated by Ramón's luminous personality, the principles that govern their lives will be rethink. He knows that only who really loves him will help him to undertake the last trip.
