Park Slope, Brooklyn, 1986. Walt Berkman, 16, is a very suggestible boy. His brother Frank, of twelve, drinks beer and speaks without modesty of his mother's sexual life. Suddenly, both have to face the outbreak of a family crisis: their parents, Bernard, a medium -sized teacher, and Joan, a promising writer who will publish a book, have decided to separate. Shared custody forces children to constantly move from one house to another to be with their parents. In addition, they have to deal with the confusing and contradictory feelings that they experience as a result of their parents' marriage failure.
