Matt Scudder (Liam Neeson) is a New York plunder who works as a private detective even though he has no license. When he reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker to hunt the men who kidnapped and brutally murdered his wife, he discovers that it is not the first time that these men have committed these types of crimes.
