Appaloosa (2008) Netflix

Set in 1882 New Mexico, Appaloosa follows two hardened lawmen, Virgil Cole and his partner Everett Hitch, who are hired to restore order in a mining town dominated by the ruthless rancher Randall Bragg and his gang. As the pair use steadiness and firepower to hold the town together and bring Bragg to justice, their fragile equilibrium is upset by the arrival of Allison French, a refined young widow who draws Virgil’s attention. Her presence strains the men’s longtime partnership and provokes Bragg’s violent retaliation, setting off betrayals, a desperate abduction, and a tense pursuit across the frontier. The film is a character-driven Western about loyalty, desire, and the costs of enforcing justice.
