Walter and Danny are two brothers, ages 6 and 10, who are often involved in sibling fights. One day, after their father left to work, they were left in the care of their older sister. In the middle of one of their multiple fights, the boys discover a board game called Zathura in the basement of their house. From the first play they realize that it is not a normal board game: the card of the spaceship moves by itself and sends messages that are fulfilled. Then, Zathura will transport them, in the strictest sense, to a great adventure in outer space. And there they will be forced to work together if they want to go home before the game is over.
