C.R.A.Z.Y. (2006) Netflix

Born on Christmas Day 1960, Zac Beaulieu is the fourth of five sons in a devout, working‑class French‑Canadian family. Raised between the ritual comforts of a loving, mystically inclined mother and the stern expectations of a macho, prideful father, Zac feels out of step with his brothers and the role his family expects him to play. From the 1960s into the 1980s he seeks refuge in music (Pink Floyd, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones), secret rebellions and youthful adventures, all while suppressing his growing attraction to men in a bid to win his father’s approval. The film follows Zac’s painful, often funny coming‑of‑age: sibling rivalries, small transgressions, and a search for spiritual and emotional belonging that at times becomes almost mystical. Ultimately it’s a tender portrait of a son’s desperate love for his father and a moving story about identity, acceptance and the ways families learn to love one another.
