After a painful breakup, washed-up musician Dave (Alexander England) volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten field trip to get closer to the fearless teacher Miss Caroline (Lupita Nyong’o). Their outing is thrown into chaos when a nearby military facility accidentally unleashes a zombie outbreak, forcing Dave, Miss Caroline and a flamboyant children’s TV star, Teddy McGiggle (Josh Gad), to scramble to protect the kids.
