Gran Torino follows Walt Kowalski, a recently widowed Korean War veteran and retired auto worker who lives alone in a changing Detroit neighborhood. The film is a portrait of aging, confrontation with past and prejudice, and an unlikely path to redemption sparked by friendship and sacrifice.
