After losing his wife seven years ago, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle, renowned doctor and veterinarian, locked himself behind the walls of his mansion with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen falls gravely ill, Dolittle must reluctantly leave his life as a hermit to embark on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his sense of humor and courage as he traverses it.
