During his vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the fan number one of the Muppets, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) discover that the oil tanker Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) plans to demolish the Muppets Theter to drill and extract the oil below. To mount the most spectacular Show of the Muppets and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary are looking for Kermit the Frog and the Muppeds: Fozzie works in a casino in Reno with the Moopets band, Piggy works for Vogue as a large size designer, Animal has entered a clinic in Santa Barbara to learn to control her anger, and Gonzo is a magnate in the plumbing industry.
