Based on a true story. In 1998 Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), a Jewish woman who fled from Vienna during World War II, returns sixty years later to claim the properties that the Nazis confiscated her family, among which is the famous' portrait of Adele Bloch -Bauer I ', by Gustav Klimt. A young lawyer (Ryan Reynolds) will help her in her struggle with the Austrian government and the United States Supreme Court. At the same time, Maria must face the terrible memories of her past.
