Silenced (2011) Netflix

Based on true events, Silenced follows Gang In-ho, a teacher who takes a job at a school for hearing-impaired children in Gwangju while trying to raise money for his daughter’s surgery. He uncovers a sustained pattern of physical and sexual abuse by members of the faculty and, together with human-rights activist Seo Yu-jin, attempts to expose the crimes. Their campaign meets fierce resistance as the school administration, local authorities and community institutions conspire to cover up the abuses.
