American Vandal (2017) Netflix

American Vandal is a deadpan spoof of serialized true‑crime documentaries that follows two student filmmakers as they dig into bizarre crimes at suburban high schools. The first season centers on the aftermath of an expensive prank — twenty‑seven faculty cars defaced with obscene drawings — and the filmmakers’ effort to determine whether the accused senior, Dylan Maxwell, was wrongly blamed and expelled. After their initial film becomes a hit, Peter and Sam take on a new, stomach‑churning mystery at a Washington high school in season two. Equal parts mystery, satire and teen drama, the show lampoons investigative TV tropes while earnestly following its amateur detectives.
