A mysterious, highly powerful tentacled being suddenly devastates most of the Moon and warns that it will destroy Earth within a year—unless someone can kill it first. Declaring itself the homeroom teacher of Class 3‑E at Kunugigaoka Junior High, the creature (dubbed Korosensei) gives the outcast students an impossible assignment: assassinate him before they graduate. The government places a ¥10 billion bounty on his head, but Korosensei’s inhuman speed and abilities (he can move at roughly Mach 20) make that task daunting. As the class trains in both assassination techniques and regular school subjects, they discover that their enigmatic teacher may be the most inspiring educator they’ve ever had—forcing them to balance the mission to save the planet with growing bonds, personal growth, and unexpected lessons about life.
