Living (2022) Netflix
In 1950s London, a long-serving, buttoned-up civil servant named Williams is stuck in the monotony of office life while the city slowly rebuilds after the war. When a bleak medical diagnosis forces him to confront his own mortality, he withdraws his savings and sets off to the coast hoping to find meaning in his remaining time. Back in the city, a chance encounter and the warmth of an energetic young colleague prompt him to re-examine how he’s been living, and—with help from an optimistic coworker—he quietly devotes himself to making a surprising, heartfelt difference in the lives around him.
