When a scientist discovers a mysterious gap in time near the Brooklyn Bridge, he proves it by pulling a visitor from 1876 into modern-day New York — a proper English duke named Leopold. Tasked (reluctantly) with introducing this bewildered 19th-century gentleman to contemporary life, a career-focused woman named Kate guides him through the bewildering conveniences and customs of 2001 Manhattan.
What begins as an odd cultural exchange soon becomes something deeper: Leopold’s old-fashioned charm and intelligence gradually win Kate over, while her friends assume he’s an eccentric actor staying in character. But their growing bond carries a cost — if Leopold doesn’t return to his own century, history itself could be rewritten — and the couple must confront whether love can bridge a hundred years.
