During the day, Driver (Ryan Gosling) works in a workshop and is a specialist driver, but, some nights sporadically, he works as a driver for criminals. Shannon (Brian Cranston), his head, who knows his talent well behind the wheel, looks for film and television directors or criminals who need the best driver for his leaks, taking the corresponding commission. But Driver's world changes the day he meets Irene (Carey Mulligan), a beautiful neighbor who has a young son and her husband in jail.
