After their mother's disappearance, shy little Saoirse — who is secretly the last of the selkies, able to become a seal — and her older brother Ben are sent to live with their stern grandmother in the city. Determined to return to the coast, they set off on a magical journey into the world of Irish folklore that Ben only knows from his mother's stories. Along the way they encounter trapped fairies and ancient spirits whose survival depends on Saoirse’s unique nature; Ben must protect his sister as she learns to unlock her powers and heal the broken ties between the human and spirit worlds. Their trip home becomes a race against time to free the enchanted creatures and restore what was lost to both families.
