In 2084, everyday construction worker Douglas Quaid is tormented by vivid dreams of a trip to the red planet. Hoping to satisfy his obsession, he visits Rekall, a company that implants false vacation memories—opting for an action-packed secret-agent scenario set on Mars. The procedure goes horribly wrong, pulling back a curtain on a much darker truth: Quaid’s current life may itself be an elaborate fabrication and powerful forces want him silenced. On the run, he heads to the Mars colony, where he becomes entangled with rebels fighting the brutal administrator Cohaagen and with a mysterious woman who may hold the key to his past. As loyalties shift and memories blur, Quaid must piece together who he really is and decide which reality, if any, he can trust.
