Based on a true story, Lion follows Saroo, a five-year-old boy from a poor rural family in India who becomes separated from his brother and accidentally boards a train that carries him far from home to the streets of Calcutta. Decades later, haunted by memories of his first family, Saroo quietly embarks on a determined search using online mapping tools to try to pinpoint his hometown and reunite with the relatives he lost.
