Thirst (2009) Netflix US

Thirst

Sang-hyun is a devout, compassionate priest who volunteers for a secret medical trial aimed at finding a vaccine for a deadly virus. After the experiment goes awry he nearly dies, then miraculously recovers following a blood transfusion—only to discover he has been changed into a creature that hungers for blood. Struggling with new physical urges and mounting self-loathing, he becomes the reluctant focus of local pilgrims who view him as a miracle worker. Rekindling a relationship with Tae-ju, a childhood acquaintance trapped in an abusive marriage, Sang-hyun gives in to carnal desire and together they descend into deception, violence and moral collapse. Torn between the remnants of his faith and the pull of his monstrous nature, he must confront how much of his humanity he is willing to lose.
