Juan Oliver is a newly assigned prison officer who, after leaving his pregnant wife at home, reports early for duty and is accidentally knocked unconscious during a tour. He wakes up inside Cell 211 to find the penitentiary in the grip of a violent uprising; with the other guards having fled, Juan must pass himself off as an inmate to survive. He forges a dangerous rapport with the riot’s leader, Malamadre (Luis Tosar), but when inmates seize several ETA prisoners as hostages the crisis becomes national, drawing government pressure and sparking unrest outside the prison. Caught between duty and survival, Juan navigates shifting loyalties and escalating stakes as he tries to make it out alive and bring the revolt to an end.
