After surviving a savage encounter that left her confined to her San Francisco apartment, criminal psychologist Dr. Helen Hudson lives in fear and isolation. When a new murderer begins reproducing the methods of notorious killers, tough-as-nails detective M.J. Monahan and her partner bring Helen back into the case to help build a profile. Reluctant at first and aided remotely by her friend Andy, Helen is pulled into a tense cat-and-mouse game as the copycat sets his sights on her and the investigators race to stop him before he kills again.
