After years away, former Marine Tommy Conlon returns to his working-class Pittsburgh home and reconnects with his long-estranged, recovering alcoholic father, Paddy, who agrees to train him for a winner-take-all mixed martial arts tournament. Meanwhile Tommy’s older brother, Brendan — a devoted high-school teacher and one-time fighter who’s struggling to support his family — reluctantly climbs back into the ring to try to secure the life-changing purse. As both men rise through the brutal competition, old wounds, resentment and loyalty resurface, forcing the brothers to face not only each other but the family pain that has haunted them for years. Warrior is a tense, emotional drama about violence, redemption and whether a shattered family can find a way to heal.
