In the summer of 1984, as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) called a strike. During the Gay Pride demonstration in London, a group of lesbians and gays were raising funds to help the families of the workers, but the union did not accept the money. The group then decided to contact the miners directly and go to a small town in Wales. Thus began the curious story of two totally different communities that came together for a common cause.
