Safe House is an action-thriller set in Cape Town about a tense cat-and-mouse game inside the CIA. When Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), a notorious former operative accused of turning on the Agency, unexpectedly surrenders at the U.S. consulate, he’s brought to a nearby safe house run by inexperienced agent Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds). During Frost’s custody the hideout is violently compromised by mercenaries determined to capture him, forcing Weston to flee with his high-value prisoner. As the two go on the run, Weston’s loyalties and principles are tested by Frost’s ruthless cunning and long history of deception. With killers closing in and evidence pointing to an insider leak, the pair must survive long enough to reach a secure location and uncover who within the Agency — and why — is orchestrating the hunt. Personal stakes grow higher as Weston’s secret life and loved ones are pulled into the danger.
